An atlas of West Africa

F. Taillefer reviews the first eight plates and bilingual English–French notes of the International Atlas of West Africa, published by IFAN in Dakar in 1968. Coverage includes relief, coasts, climate, zoogeography, and administrative divisions. He praises the arrangement placing four climatic variables side by side for each month and the printing quality, notes missing tidal-range information, and observes that most new states retained colonial borders while internal administrative divisions remained unsettled.
