This review examines five thematic sheets from the tenth installment of the Atlas of the Netherlands, printed in 1974. It assesses their cartographic content, scales, visual design, and informational value. The geology sheet combines six detailed extracts with vertically exaggerated profiles; two geomorphology sheets present national landforms and larger-scale examples that reveal the degree of generalization, supplemented by relief-energy data. Another sheet maps forests, natural areas, urban land, and soil categories. The final sheet depicts six dimensions of agricultural structure, including farm and parcel size, tenancy, land prices, family labor, and standardized farm units. Overall, the installment demonstrates high thematic detail and consistent quantitative classification, especially in its treatment of geomorphology and agriculture, although the pale topographic base of the principal geomorphological map reduces clarity.
