Hans L. Hörvik reviews the Swiss national atlas published by Landestopographie in Bern, praising it as a distinguished cartographic work. The first instalment includes a 1:500,000 topographic overview, relief and elevation maps, seven geophysical and eight climatological maps, and maps of population density, economic structure, house types, crops and forests, plus two 1:50,000 topographic examples of high-Alpine areas. A second instalment, planned for spring 1966, is to cover population, transport and the geography of larger cities. Issued as 38 × 52 cm loose sheets in a leather-covered cardboard case, the atlas appears to Hörvik to have followed the Atlas of Sweden in its presentation and several other respects.
