This report reviews progress on Poland’s national and regional atlases through the end of 1963. Thirty-five plates of the National Atlas of Poland had been prepared for reproduction, covering physical geography, population, and transport. Nine newly completed physical-geography plates address Quaternary substratum structure, hydrography, lakes, soils, snowfall and snow cover, storms and hail, and several measures of temperature; eight plates remained unfinished. Publication delays meant that the first plates were not expected before 1965. The report also describes the sixteen-plate Atlas of Opole Voivodeship and the planned seventy-eight-plate Atlas of Białystok Voivodeship, fourteen of which were scheduled for printing by mid-1964. Finally, it notes that the Institute of Geography of the Polish Academy of Sciences prepared a second edition of the international bibliography of national and regional atlases for the London Congress.
