This review evaluates the 1961 Nuevo Atlas de España, produced through broad collaboration among Spanish scholars, administrators, and institutions. The atlas combines statistical tables, physical and human geography, historical cartography, and regional maps, with much of its quantitative coverage spanning 1901–1959. Its most original feature is the standardized treatment of Spain’s 54 provinces: each provincial spread integrates topography, transport, administration, population, agriculture, industry, and climate. The volume also includes approximately 900 photographs, although their density and uneven reproduction sometimes reduce their visual impact. Despite this limitation, the reviewer regards the atlas as a rich, accessible, and well-organized source of knowledge about Spain. Its innovative provincial presentation and overall cartographic design also offer methods that could be productively adopted in geographical publications elsewhere.
