The notice records that the first edition of Amorim Girão’s Atlas of Portugal, published in 1941 to commemorate the double centenary of Portugal’s foundation and restoration, had sold out. While introducing plans for a new edition, the author recalls that the first edition had sought to present a vivid, colourful image of the country.
