Summary

The Atlas du Luxembourg, published by the Board of National Education in 1971, comprises 42 sheets, each measuring 40×50 cm. Prepared by the Department of Geography at the University of Nottingham in collaboration with Luxembourg geographers, this atlas addresses the inadequate coverage of Luxembourg in existing maps of the Benelux countries. It is organized into six sections—historical, physical, administrative, demographic, economic, and social—with maps at scales of 1:200,000 and 1:400,000, facilitating comparative analysis. The atlas vividly illustrates the diverse economic resources of the country's subdivisions and highlights post-war changes, particularly the significant population growth in the southwestern industrial belt. It serves as a valuable cartographic reference for understanding Luxembourg's geography.
