Reports of ICA Commissions: Atlases

Summary

The report records three 2012 activities involving the ICA Commission on Atlases. A Kyiv conference on national atlases featured 64 presentations, chiefly on Ukrainian production, alongside work from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and other countries. An October workshop in Guangzhou surveyed Chinese and European city atlases, including online, navigation, image, and design projects. At SOMAP 2012 in Vienna, the Commission presented eleven short papers on new Central European atlases covering historical, environmental, demographic, religious, and political themes.
