Summary

This article reviews the first volume of the Atlas of Denmark, edited by Professor Niels Nielsen. Dedicated to morphology, this volume far exceeds similar publications in scope. It features large-scale (1:750,000) national maps, including relief and geological maps, and innovatively uses block diagrams to represent topographic types and their genesis, vividly illustrating moraine landscapes, eskers, drumlins, and coastal evolution. The accompanying text volume includes photographs and detailed commentary. The reviewer praises the atlas as a powerfully original work that not only presents the complete morphology of Denmark but also illustrates and renews many chapters of physical geography.
