Summary

This article reviews the third fascicle of the Atlas of the Socialist Republic of Romania, published in 1976, comprising 21 colored maps that adhere to the standards recommended by the Commission on National Atlases of the International Geographical Union. The maps cover topics such as Romania's geographical position, tectonics, geomorphology, precipitation, lakes and the Black Sea, water resources, vegetation, fauna, toponymy, population distribution, urbanization, land use, and transportation, with legends and notes in four languages including French. The review highly commends the atlas for its cartographic rigor, thematic depth, and sustained documentary effort, considering it a significant regional research achievement.
