Book reviews: Atlas of Australian resources

Summary

This review evaluates the second series of the Atlas of Australian Resources, initiated in 1962 as an updated national inventory. Ten sheets from the first series have been revised and reprinted, while new maps of landforms, climate, and land use replace earlier materials. Comparative examination shows that the atlas documents both Australia’s contemporary economy and its transformation since 1960. Its redesigned thematic maps incorporate advances in geographical research, and its cartographic presentation is substantially improved. A fuller assessment, including related regional map series, is planned after completion.
