Book reviews: Atlas of the Netherlands

Summary

This review assesses a new installment of the Atlas of the Netherlands comprising ten maps on geophysics, climate, income, wealth, agricultural production, industry, trade, and postal links. It highlights the industrial map, which suggests suburban relocation of employment around Amsterdam and Rotterdam and regional concentration in peripheral areas. Although informative, the accompanying commentary offers little causal explanation. Completion of the atlas was anticipated by 1973.
