Book reviews: Atlas of Switzerland

Summary

Werner Witt reviews the seventh instalment (1974) of the Atlas of Switzerland. Its ten plates cover geomorphological examples, population in 1950 and 1970, rural settlement and field patterns, urban development, tourism, road traffic volumes, natural regions, and Valais landscapes. Witt praises the consistently exceptional quality of the content and cartography. The geomorphological overview map remains unpublished; of the 86 planned plates, 18 in two instalments are still in preparation.
