Summary

Meeting in Moscow on 11–21 August 1958, the IGU Commission on National Atlases reviewed national-atlas projects and completed map sheets, and discussed atlas purposes, content, improvement, and its work plan. Its resolution advocated greater standardization for comparative use and proposed monographic studies, a bibliographic centre, country-level consultations, and a permanent secretariat. Chair Prof. Salischtschew was asked to submit a summary report to the Stockholm congress.
