Summary

This review describes the Atlas of London and the London Region, edited by Emrys Jones and D. J. Sinclair. Its maps generally use data through the 1961 census, with some incorporating the 1966 census and transport surveys. Most extend beyond Greater London, while several cover South East England. Population themes are mapped by administrative units, whereas some industrial maps use a one-kilometre grid. The atlas covers physical geography, microclimate, urban history, population and housing, income, land use, commerce, industry, shopping centres, transport modes, travel times, and transfers.
